在舞蹈、戲劇、美術、音樂之間，《時光冉冉》延續前身《島嶼時光》的跨界精神，繼續穿梭於異質藝術空間，透過演出者簡約的肢體語言，體現一種既凝鍊又豐盛的新表演形式。導演陳志誠提出「活化石劇場」的概念，帶領國立臺灣藝術大學的創作者和表演者共同追求，一幕幕充滿詩意的舞台演化，是臺灣近年來特別令人驚艷的跨界演出。
 
《時光冉冉》此劇的表演形式，主要是在召喚人類漫長時光旅程中，已然在行為契約儀式中體呈的某種究竟存有為何的冥思苦想？它涵構某種具體而莫名的遠古神話蘊含，裊繞甸甸地道成於肉體身軀，卻又似非而是地遙望未來的靈盈不可知。
 
《時光冉冉》的總體演繹彷彿萬花筒，一隅的世界之微型縮影，如同凝斂澱積的化石；劇場空間文質、判斷未來、演化、時代晶體、釋古狀態 ... 。
 
當我們逝憶失神的凝視觀注它，似乎有著潛意識之覺知而湧現一種形象化的原型。也在感知的無邊無盡的時光渲染中，《時光冉冉》靜默有詩意地開展著當代劇場的某種『活化石』新劇場；烏托邦鋪陳。

Between dance, drama, art, and music, " Epitome of Time" continues the cross-border spirit of the predecessor "Island Through Time" and continues to travel in the heterogeneous art space. Through the basic body language of the performer, a new form of performance that is both condensed and rich is reflected. Director CHEN Chih-Cheng put forward the concept of "Living Fossil Theater" and led the creators and performers of the National Taiwan University of Arts to pursue it together. The performance form of the drama " Epitome of Time " is mainly about, what kind of meditations exist in the behavior contract ritual in the long journey of summoning human beings? It embodies a specific and inexplicable ancient mythology, with incarnation, but paradoxically a distant view of the unknowable future as well.
 
The overall interpretation of " Epitome of Time " is like a kaleidoscope, an aspect of the world's miniature microcosm, which is like a fossilized deposit; the appearance and essence of the theater space, judging the future, evolution, time crystal, and explanation state of ancient history...
 
When we gaze at it with unconsciousness, it seems to have a subconscious awareness and a visualized prototype emerges. In the endless time rendering of perception, " Epitome of Time " quietly and poetically develops some kind of "living fossil" new theatre of contemporary theatre; utopian display.
